The architectural challenge presented to Bauen Group, LLC by the Client was to create a substantial addition to an existing small stone and wood house located in the upper Animas Valley. Design a new aesthetic that tied the existing house and new addition together as one holistic structure with a common vocabulary. The massing on the added living space and garage was designed to compliment the existing structure. The challenge of blending old and new resulted in a nicely proportioned home that evokes a timeless quality of elegance through mass, scale and proportion.
